Point Elevation from Triangle

Use this function to calculate the elevation of the desired point from the elevations of the triangle model (TIN model) available in the current drawing.

Run the function from the following location:

MOUS_ICO Menu: Terrain > Elevation tools > Point elevation from triangle

Working procedure

Command prompts for:

Height of text <5.0>:

Define the text height (meter).

Number of decimals <3>:

Define the number of decimals.

Single points or Points=blocks/texts [Single/Point] <Point>:

Points can be picked using the option 'Single' or blocks/text entities can be selected using the option 'Point'.

For the option 'Single (S)' command prompts for:

Select point:

Select the point, of which elevation is to be calculated from the triangle surfaces. The calculated elevation will be displayed on the command line and inserted in the drawing.

Select point:

Continue to pick points in the drawing, or finish with the right button of the mouse or the key 'Return'.

…. UNDO [Yes/No] <No>:

Use to option 'Yes' to erase all the text entities inserted.

Use to option 'No' to retain all the text entities and exit the function.

For the option 'Points (P)' command prompts for:

Points = blocks/texts…

Select objects:

Select the objects (blocks and/or text entities), for which elevations are to be calculated from the triangle surfaces.

Selection modes of AutoCAD can be used for multiple selections.

Select objects:

Continue to select the objects or confirm the selection using the right button of the mouse or the key 'Return'.

The elevations will be calculated at the insertion point of the selected objects (blocks and text entities).

The calculated elevations will be displayed on the command line and inserted into the drawing. Example:
