Trim Alignment
Use this function to trim the alignment. It is often required to cut and remove the parts at the start and/or ends of the alignment.
Trim command in CAD is not to be used as it destroys the information of the alignment and the database (Quadri Model) is affected.
The function makes changes only to the alignment in the drawing.
The data related to the alignment in the database is unaltered.
Run the function from the following locations:
MOUS_ICO Toolbar: Draw Horizontal Alignment: Trim Alignment
MOUS_ICO Menu: Road > Draw Horizontal Alignment > Trim Alignment
Command prompts for:
Pick baseline:
MOUS_ICO Select the alignment/CAD element (Line/Polyline/Arc) to be trimmed.
The dialog Trim Alignment will pop up.
Marks (cross line) referring to the first (green) and last (red) chainage will be displayed on the alignment.
The dialog is a floating window, which allows working on other Novapoint/CAD functions without exiting this dialog.
Defining the stretch of alignment to be retained
The first and last chainages of the section to be retained can be picked from the drawing using the pick button, adjacent to the fields First chainage and Last chainage.
The cross mark moves along the selected line when the button is activated.
Follow the command prompt.
Alternatively, key in the first and last chainages of the section that is to be retained at the fields First chainage and Last chainage.
The section of the selected line within the defined first and last chainage will be retained.
The coordinates of the first and last chainage will be displayed at the fields Northing and Easting.
Tip: Make use of Object Snap Modes for accurate selection.
