Speed
NOTE: This Speed profile is different from the speed definition in the alignment design tool.
The speed profile described on this page is what you see in the "Draw Longitudinal Profile" for this railway model, and is not used in calculating cant in alignment design.
Defining the speed profile
The speed profile for the track (section wise) can be defined on the tab 'Speed Profile' of the dialog box 'Track Data'.

Manually defining the speed profile
Just below the list area there are three edit fields. Define the values for 'From Station', 'To Station' and 'Speed' in the three edit fields and confirm them with the key 'Return'.
The confirmed speed profiles will be listed in the upper part of the dialog box and the graph at the lower portion will be updated.
Users can define as many speed profiles as desired.
Overlap in speed profile sections is not allowed.
The list of speed profiles will automatically be sorted by chainage.
Read from Object
Element speeds defined while designing the alignment (Alignment Design Railway) can be imported using this option. Select the desired line task from which element speeds are to be imported and click 'OK'.
Update/Editing a Speed Profile Section
Select the speed profile, which is to be edited from the list by clicking on the cells.
See the edit fields at the lower part of the list, which reflect the selected speed profile.
Edit the values. Confirm the changes using the button 'Update'.
Two consecutive sections with the same speed will be merged.
Export
The speed profile data can be exported to a 'Text' file using the button 'Export'. Define the location and name of the text file.
Delete
Deletes the highlighted row in the list box.
