Cross-Section Area Calculation

In this dialog, you can calculate the area and distances between different design profiles and scanner profiles. The result of the area- and distance calculation is shown in the Calculation Result textbox. In the cross-section drawing, the areas are colored red and distance lines are drawn according to the selections you make in the Shown on the Cross-Section part of the dialog.

Select primary and secondary surfaces

Select an active scanned profile or a design surface (Inner Profile, Perimeter, or Free Space) from the drop-down lists for primary and secondary surfaces. You can decide for yourself what you choose as primary and secondary surfaces.

If you check the Use Offset checkbox, you can enter an offset value in the Scanned Profile Offset textbox. If the value is positive, the scanned profile will be expanded according to the offset value. If the value is negative the scanned profile will be decreased.

Calculation Result

In this text box, the calculation result for the current profile number is displayed.

Distance Between the Scanned Profile and the Design Profile

Select the Max and Min Distances radio button if you want only the max and min distances between the scanned profile and the design profile to be shown in the drawing. Select All Distances radio button if you want all the distances between the scanned profile and the design profile to be shown in the drawing.

Area Between the Scanned Profile and the Design Profile

Select Cross-Section Area Inside the Scanned Profile and Outside the Design Profile if you want the area of the scanned profile outside the design profile to be colored in the drawing.

Select Cross-Section Area Inside the Design Profile and Outside the Scanned Profile if you want the area of the scanned profile inside the design profile to be colored in the drawing.
