Road Model Files

The input and result data for a road design can be exported to a few different formats, some are proprietary formats and some are more consumable in open formats.

Proprietary formats

Road model files can be exported to proprietary formats designed by Novapoint to hold the road design input data in the dialogs and various descriptions and also the results from the last calculation.

In addition to reading the files back into Novapoint, the files can be read into some other software also:

• Trimble Business Center

• Powel Gemini

File extensions

Novapoint 21 and newer:

• DMI - Design Model Input file

• DMR - Design Model Result file

Novapoint 20 and older:

• GEN and VPR - Input files

• HOR, TER, VEG, VRT (and MAS) - Result files

Open formats

The input data for the design tool dialogs and descriptions can be exported to more readable open formats.

File extensions

Novapoint 21 and newer:

• PARAM - XML file with input data

Novapoint 20 and older:

• IND - TXT file with input data
