Macro
The dialog box Surface Macro can be activated from the button Macro of the dialog box Road Surfaces.
Use this option to insert predefined segments of surface descriptions into the road surface description.
Predefined segments are, bus bay, pull over, guardrail, accident lay-by, acceleration lane, and deceleration lane.
This option can also be used for user-defined segments of surface description in the road surface description.
User-defined segments of surface description can also be defined in the dialog box Road Surfaces.
It is recommended to use the dialog Road Surfaces for user-defined surfaces.
Object to insert
There are several predefined surface descriptions, which can be used directly, or as a basis for modification:
Start guard rail widening
End guard rail widening
Bus stops - various
Lay-by
Acceleration lanes – various
Deceleration lane – various
Etc.
Select the desired predefined surface from the pull-down menu.
Insert object at station
Define the station at which the surface is to be inserted.
The default value will be the highlighted station in the dialog box Road Surfaces, from which the macro was activated, but can be modified to any given station.
By default, the insertion point will be the start station of the surface macro, which can be changed from the table of the dialog box.
Reverse
Inserts the macro in a reverse direction.
Insert
The insertion point will by default start on the first row in the macro but can be changed to any other station by clicking in the cell (column Insert) of the desired station row.
User-defined Surface Macro
Select User defined from the pull-down menu at Object to insert.
Define the parameter Insert Object at Station.
Define the length (to the station will be calculated from the values Station and Length).
Define the width and slope.
Select the insertion point and click OK.
Use the shortcut menu of the table for cut/copy/paste/clear content.
The surface description will be imported to the surface in the dialog Road Surfaces (shown below), from where the Macro was activated.
Further fine-tuning of the surface description can be done from the dialog Road Surfaces.
The property Inherit is edited from the dialog Road Surfaces.
Other details such as Lines, Free Surfaces, etc., can be employed from the dialog Road Surfaces.
Note: Breaks in the surface description are marked with something else other than a numeric value (e.g. - minus/hyphen) in the station column.
