Draw Extra Chainage/Stationing Point from Reference Alignment
Use this function to do the following:
To calculate and draw extra chainages on the baseline at points that are referred to as an interval on a reference line.
To calculate the chainage of the baseline and its offset from the reference line at the desired interval on the reference line. Labels with both these values are drawn along the reference line at the calculated interval.
To draw extra points on the reference line at the desired interval.
The above three are the options of this function and the marked (check box) option(s) will be executed.
The baseline and the reference line can be an alignment or CAD line/polyline/arc.
Extra chainage points for the baseline will be calculated at an interval that is referred to as the interval on the reference line, which is a user-defined value.
The drawing setup Chainage2 (Chainage Setup/Label) is used to represent the extra chainages on the baseline.
The drawing setup Setup (Text Setup) is used to represent the label on the reference line.
CAD point type (command DDPTYPE) is used to represent the extra points on the reference line.
Notes:
The extra chainage points drawn on the reference line is not the actual chainage of the reference line, instead, it is the chainage of the baseline.
The alignment(s) in the Quadri Model are unaltered.
Run the function from the following location:
MOUS_ICO Menu: Road > Draw Horizontal Alignment > Draw Extra Chainage Points from Reference Alignment
MOUS_ICO Ribbon: Road > Draw Horizontal Alignment > Draw Extra Chainage Points from Reference Alignment
Command prompts for:
Pick base line:
MOUS_ICO Select the line (alignment or CAD line/polyline/arc), on which extra chainage points are to be calculated and drawn.
Pick reference line:
MOUS_ICO Select the line (alignment or CAD line/polyline/arc), from which the extra chainage points and offset are to be calculated.
The dialog box Draw Extra Chainage Points from Reference Alignment will pop up.
The dialog box is a floating window and will be active till closed (button close), which allows working on other Novapoint/CAD functions.
Reference line options
The first chainage and the last chainage of the select reference line will be displayed at the respective fields. Define the section of the reference line, for which extra chainage points are to be calculated.
Calculation step (m): Define the interval for extra chainage points. The interval refers to the selected reference line.
See Draw Options below.
Round chainage: Mark the check box for rounding off the chainage.
Element end points: Mark this check box to insert extra chainage points only at element end points of the reference line.
Draw Options
The options to draw the extra chainage points are to be marked in this field. The corresponding setup for the extra chainage points can also be customized. The available options are as follows:
Draw Point - Check this box to insert points along the reference line at the defined Calculation step (meter).
The points are in accordance with the active point style in CAD.
To change the point style in CAD, use the command DDPTYPE.
Draw Chainage - Mark this check box to draw extra chainage points along the baseline.
The extra chainage points are calculated at the points that are referred to the interval (Calculation step (meter)) along the reference line.
The extra chainage points are drawn in accordance with the setup Chainage Setup/Label.
Use the button Setup to customize the setup.
Draw Distance Arrow - Mark this check box to insert the labels along the reference line.
The labels represent the extra chainage of the baseline and its offset from the reference line.
The extra chainage points and the offset values are calculated at the Calculation step (meter) (interval on reference line).
The labels are in accordance with the setup Text Setup.
Use the button Setup to customize the setup.
Constant Text Angle - This option is available when the option Draw distance arrow is turned on. Define the orientation (grad) of the label Distance Arrow.
Save point data to file
Mark the check box to save the data of the extra chainage points being inserted to a text file.
The data includes: Element number, chainage, offset, and coordinates (Northing, Easting, and Elevation).
Define the file name and location using the ellipse button.
The active file can also be viewed using the preview icon.
