Getting Started
The following describes the work flow procedure for finding the best fitting alignment from the surveyed data (surveyed points, 3D polyline, etc.) representing the existing alignment.
Create KOF-File (Input Data)
Input Data: Novapoint compatible file created from the surveyed data.
Import the surveyed data to the DTM (Digital Terrain Model).
Right click the 3D polyline in the DTM Viewer and choose Export to File (Save as *.KOF).
Alignment Design from Points
In CAD, measure the length of the shortest straight line in the alignment.
Start Alignment Design from Points.
Open the KOF-file - refer to Open (in the section File under Menu).
If there is an Unknown feature code in the dialog that pops up, enter that feature code in the field for Centre, press the plus symbol, and click OK - refer to Importing KOF Data (in the section File under Menu).
Select Rehab as the method of analysis in the dialog that pops up.
Click Configure and enter the desired values.
Use the measured shortest length for Minimum straight line length, and click OK.
Click OK - Analyze.
Close the application and return to the analysis with a different configuration if required.
Note: Optimize the alignment inside the application or use Alignment Design.
To open the alignment in Alignment Design, do the following:
Save the horizontal geometry as TIT file.
Save the vertical geometry as NYL.
Start Alignment Design, open the TIT file.
