Median

To add and control the road pavement layers beneath the median. By default, road pavement layers will not be laid beneath the median surfaces but will be cut at the innermost carriageway surfaces on either side of the centerline.

To add continuous pavement through the median surfaces use this function.

• The inner median surfaces must be set to inherit.

• The thickness of the layers to be laid beneath the median surfaces will be interpolated from the adjacent (carriageway) pavement layers.

• With the road pavement beneath the median, a straight alignment needs to go from the lower edge of the layer from one side of the median to the other.

• If this alignment cuts the top surface of the central reservation, it will be broken and will follow the top surface to the cutting point on the other side.

Default settings in the Median function is set to Cut. Change this to Continuous to have continuing pavement layers beneath the median.

• It is possible to only have continuous pavement layers on the lower layers if needed. Then only these will be continuous.

• Choosing Continuous on the upper layers automatically adds continuous surfaces on the lower layers even when they are set to Cut.
