Options

Use the following procedure to customize Bridge Professional.

Find the function here:

Ribbon: Bridge > Options

The purpose of Options in Novapoint Bridge is that you can adapt the module to match your own configuration in AutoCAD. You will have the option to choose which colours you wish to use for roads, bridge,s and terrain etc. You will also have the option to choose whether to have road points legends. When you choose Options, a dialog box will be displayed on the screen.

Show road point num.

Shows the roads surface numbers on screen when you use the Draw cross-section function.

Automatic zooming

This option makes the program automatically zoom in around the cross section when the Draw cross-section function is being used.

Dummy terrain

This option can be used when the cross-section calculation fails because of missing terrain data. With 'Dummy terrain' on the cross-section calculation will use an artificial terrain located 100.0m under the road surface.

Calculate terrain sections

Calculates terrain sections under the centreline road. It also activates the Specify terrain button.

Linear Radius/Linear Start Angle

This selection decides how curves are to be calculated between two succeeding key sections when the distance between the end points of the curve differs between the two key sections. The selection Linear Start Angle is recommended in most cases. Linear Start Angle causes the program itself to calculate the radius for all the station numbers based on the angle between the adjacent edges at the actual station number.

The selection Linear Radius will force the radius to vary linearly between the two succeeding key sections. This choice can therefore result in error messages and a cross section geometry that was not intended.

Specify terrain

This choice is only activated when Calculate terrain cross sections is chosen. In this dialog you specify the station numbers where you want your terrain profiles to be drawn. The distances are specified relative to the station number of the actual road station number. If -3m is specified, a terrain line at the station number that is 3m less than the station number of the actual road profile is drawn.

You can also specify the terrain levels you want to be drawn. All available terrain levels in the database are shown in this dialog. Just check out the levels you want to be shown on your drawing, specify the relative station number value and press Add. A list of all the terrain lines you have specified is shown in the dialog. Press Cut if you want to delete some of the lines.

When you choose the function Draw Cross Section, the specified terrain lines are drawn together with the road profile and structure cross-section with the respective colors specified below.

Layer name

Write in the layer names you want for section elements.

Colors

Click on the color button to change color. The color you choose will be the specified layers color.

You have the option to change the following colors:

When you change the default color, you must remember that it might mean that you will not be able to output lines in the color you are changing to in 3D. You ought to consider this well, before you alter this color.
