Draw Road Model
Use this function to draw a plan drawing of the road model (all the surfaces that were used in road design).
One can draw the surface edges, slope symbols, flow direction arrows, and hatched surfaces in one operation or split the presentation into several operations.
Each model will by default have one drawing style saved at the model location.
User-defined styles can be created and saved at any location.
User-defined settings for layers, colors, line types, and line weight can be defined and used for any model to be presented.
Use the Save and Open tools to manage the plan drawing styles.
The same style can be used for any number of plan drawings.
The new grids used in this function will use Inherit as a common principle.
Default values are Bylayer and Inherit from a higher grid level.
This tool will present the calculated road model data only. Set the road model cross-section interval to a denser value, e.g., every 1.0m, to ensure a nice presentation of road models at steep horizontal curves. Road models based on denser intervals will also result in a more detailed quantity calculation.
Run the function from the following locations:
MOUS_ICO Menu: Road > Draw Road Model

Procedure
General
Specify the first and last chainage to limit the model to be drawn.
Select the style to be used, or accept the default style.
Mark the checkboxes (below) Draw Surface Edges, Draw Slope Symbols, Draw Flow Direction Arrows, Draw Hatched Surfaces, Draw Tunnel Lines, and Draw Tunnel Geology Lines to include these details in the presentation.
Select the surfaces from the left pane and specify the settings in the right pane.
Useful tools for selecting the surfaces to be drawn are available from the drop-down menu at Use, from the different grid headings. Use the drop-down menu option Select all to ensure that the entire model is presented.
Expand or collapse the grid using the + and - buttons.
Mark the button to specify the layer name, color, line type, and/or lightweight for any drawing layer. The default value is Inherit.
To specify the details such as layer name, color, line type, and line weight, click the respective cell.
Users can specify different drawing rules for the left side and right side surfaces of the road.
Draw Surface Edges
This option draws the outer edge of every selected surface.
One can also specify to draw only the outermost edge in each surface group.
Remember to Deselect all before selecting any left or right surface options.
Draw Slope Symbols
Mark the check box to include slope symbols in the presentation.
With this option, one can specify the drawing rule for the slope symbols.
Use the left pane to specify drawing options (on both or only the left or right side).
One can also select between different symbol types, and specify the layer, color, and line weight to be used.
Draw Flow Direction Arrows
These arrows mark the longitudinal flow direction.
Mark the check box to include flow direction arrows in the presentation.
Select the surfaces on which the flow arrows are to be inserted.
Draw Hatched Surfaces
This tool is useful to create clear and easy-to-read plan drawings.
Specify the different surface group colors, or even better; select predefined drawing layers with different colors and use Bylayer for color.
Draw Tunnel Lines
With this tool, you can include the tunnel geometry lines on the plan drawing. You must select Draw Tunnel Lines to see the actual controls for this functionality.
You must specify the tunnel Geometry File in this dialog.
The value of the Calculate Interval defines the interval for the tunnel cross-section calculation. For these chainage values, the geometry lines are accurately calculated. Between these chainage values, the system calculates the geometry lines by linear interpolation.
You can choose to draw plan lines for the inner profile surface, the perimeter surface, or both. For each of the surfaces you have chosen, you can again choose to draw a line for the extreme left-, right- or top-point. The extreme points are calculated for a vertical/horizontal coordinate system (not rotated). This means that if a symmetric tunnel is rotated, the extreme top point is not at the symmetry axis, but at the maximum elevation.
Draw Tunnel Geology Lines
With this tool, you can draw the tunnel geometry lines on the plan drawing to facilitate geology presentations. You must select Draw Tunnel Geology Lines to see the actual controls for this functionality.
You must specify the tunnel Geometry File in this dialog.
The value of the Calculate Interval defines the interval for the tunnel cross-section calculation. For these chainage values, the geometry lines are accurately calculated. Between these chainage values, the system calculates the geometry lines by linear interpolation.
The Crossing Line Interval defines the chainage interval for which a crossing line is drawn on the plan drawing.
The geology lines consist of the extreme left and right lines of the perimeter in addition to two lines representing the transition lines between the tunnel walls and the roof. These transition lines are not calculated accurately in regard to the geometry but are only drawn º of the tunnel width from each of the extreme left/right lines.
Click the button Draw to execute the function.
Draw Boundaries
The road model boundaries defined in road surfaces and the property boundaries defined in property boundaries can be drawn to the CAD drawing.
Mark the check box Draw Boundaries to enable draw boundaries.
Select the heading Draw Boundaries from the left pane to define the drawing settings.
Different drawing settings for model and property boundaries are possible.
Draw Contour
Contours for the surfaces of the road model can be drawn to the drawing file.
Mark the check box Draw Contour to enable the option.
Select the heading Draw Contour to define the settings including labels.
Select the outermost surface group with which contours will be drawn.
Define the contour interval at Equidistance.
Select the main contour interval from the pull-down menu at the Main interval.
Different drawing settings and label settings for contour line, main contour line, contour label, and main contour label is possible.
