Draw Road Marking lines

This function is used for designing and drawing road marking lines. Based on a pre-designed polyline, line or arc. - road marking lines are created as individual objects on top of these. Different road marking styles can be applied to the same reference line - see the below illustration:

Design

The following sequence of questions will appear at startup:


Select reference line (line, arc or polyline):


Select other entity (line , arc or polyline)! Press \"ENTER\" key if you want Reference line as Centre line.


Select objects:

Start by picking a reference line. When picking several entities, the first entity will be a reference line only and road markings will be applied to the remaining entities. To apply road markings to the reference line, one must press ENTER after picking this entity.


Start point

Before proceeding – check or change the desired road marking linetype from the drop-down list in the "Change parameter" dialogue box.


Pick (or snap to) a starting point on the reference line or use the "Change parameter" dialogue box to enter a starting station no. in the "From" field. 


Undo/<Next point>:


Pick (or snap to) an ending point to define a line segment.


Next point:


Change the desired road marking linetype from the drop-down list in the "Change parameter" dialogue box. Pick (or snap to) an ending point to define the next line segment.


Next point: 


Etc…


Next point: 


Terminate with ENTER on the last segment.



Example using the "Road Marking Line" function...

Note: When picking points defining line segments, the function will adjust the point to the nearest possible location in accordance with the linetype chosen. This to ensure correct spacing when changing from one linetype to another.



Edit an existing road marking line

There are two ways to access and edit a road marking line once it has been designed. One can use the Edit button in the ribbon menu or optionally use the right mouse click while holding the Ctrl key down.
