Elevation from NYLP
Use this option to read the elevations from an NYLP file and assign them to the selected 2D line to convert it into a 3D polyline.
NYL files can be generated from the function 'Export to file' of the module 'Alignment Design'.
NYL files can also be generated from the function 'Export' of the 'Novapoint Base'.
The essential condition for this is the object, which has the elevation data, should be saved to the database (Digital Terrain Model).
When this option is activated, Novapoint's standard dialog box 'Select file' for file selection will pop up.
Browse to the location of the file, select the file, and click the button 'Open'.
The elevation is read from the selected NYL file and assigned to the 2D entity, which is to be converted 3D polyline.
In this case, elevations are assigned only at the break points.
If the 2D entity has only a few break points, more break points (end points, at which elevations are assigned) can be created using the option Lines only.
This is to be done prior to assigning elevations.
