Elevation Annotation

The function customizes the Elevation Annotation.

Find the function here:

Ribbon: Bridge > Tools Elevation Annotation

The dialog box 'Elevation Annotation' will pop up.

Direct Annotation (Default)

The elevation values are written directly on the drawing.

Alpha Numeric Annotation

Writes a reference number to the coordinate point on the drawing and the coordinates are to be read from the Elevation Table, which is generated from the tool 'Elevation Table'.

Arabic Numeric Annotation

Writes a reference Arabic numeral to the coordinate point on the drawing and the coordinates are to be read from the Elevation Table, which is generated from the tool Elevation Table'.

Roman Numeric Annotation

Writes a reference Roman numeral to the coordinate point on the drawing and the coordinates are to be read from the Elevation Table, which is generated from the tool Elevation Tables.

Start value

If alphanumeric, Arabic numerals, or Roman numerals are used, you will have the privilege to select desired start number. The program automatically calculates the first free number in the drawing.

Draw reference line (default)

Draws a line to mark the elevation point. See the above four images, which are having reference lines (small horizontal lines at the annotation originating point).

Choose UCS

Shows all the stored UCS in the drawing. The current UCS is the default. Choose which UCS you want the elevation to be written and calculated in. The elevation is always calculated in the UCS you have chosen as the current. The elevation equals the Y coordinate in the current UCS.

The UCS name is stored together with the reference symbol in the drawing. When you later draw a table, the reference elevation point will be calculated according to the stored UCS.

Draw annotation

Tip: Adjust the SNAP setting to fit your actual type of point.

Command prompts for:

The Elevation Annotation is written when you pick the text point.

The annotation will be drawn on a new layer B_Symbol_0 (Novapoint creates).

If you choose an annotation option other than Direct, you can enter a new value directly on the command line. It does not matter if you type in a letter or a digit. The program will check if the value already exists and try to increase the value for the next symbol. If you choose to type a Roman numeral, you have to start with the letter R.

Legal values

Examples of legal values given on the command line are:

If the program cannot increase the value for the next symbol, you will get a message.
