Ditches
Use this function for designing new ditch cross-sections, either by starting with an empty cross-section or by copying an existing one, edit existing ditch cross-sections, or delete cross-sections you don't want to keep.
New Ditch is used for designing new ditch cross-sections. The function is run from the following location:
Copy Ditch is used for making new cross sections by copying and editing existing ditch cross-sections. The function is run from the following location:
Mirror Ditch is a third way of designing new ditch cross-sections and is run from the following location:
New ditch cross sections designed using one of the methods above, should be given unique names and can be edited using functions under the tabs Ditch properties, Connectors, and Geometry. below the cross-section pane.
Ditch cross-sections that are no longer to be kept in the WS project, can be deleted. Delete Ditch is run from the following location:
Pipes
This dialogue is used for defining the pipes to be used in the cross-section, pipe materials, dimensions, and classes. Furthermore which pipes the different pipes are to be referred to and the distance between them, both horizontally and vertically. When a value is changed, the change is immediately visual in the cross-section pane.
New is used to add another pipe to the ditch cross-section. The function is run from the following location:
Copy is used for making new pipes by copying and editing existing pipes. The function is run from the following location:
Remove is used to delete a pipe from the ditch cross-section. The function is run from the following location:
Ditch cross-sections are seen in the direction of increasing stationing.
Only pipes registered under Pipes and Pipe materials can be used.
Connectors
This dialogue is used for defining the connector types to be connected to each pipe in the trench. To start with, it is possible to attach one particular type of connector to the start and end points of the trench, and one type to all breakpoints in between.
It is only possible to use connector types and materials defined under Connectors and Connector materials.
Foundation
Under this tab, there is a matrix of foundation thicknesses for different soil conditions and different pipe dimensions. The foundation thicknesses are according to Norwegian authorities and may be different in other countries. The given thicknesses should be considered as a minimum and in certain cases, a thicker foundation may be required.
For flexible pipes, the Diameter > 1200 mm required foundation thickness should be 350 mm.
Geometry
Under this tab standard values for protection layer, side slopes, and distance to trench wall for pipes may be overruled for each trench. Standard values are given under Default Values.
