Show Perspective

Using this tool, you can quickly generate a perspective view of your bridge/structure and terrain.

Note: You have to draw a 3D surface model of the bridge/structure, which is viewed in perspective view. To draw a 3D surface model, run the tool 'Draw 3D Face Model'.

The function will automatically insert a VIEW in your drawing. You will specify a camera position in relation to the centreline. You can also select the direction of view and the focal length of the camera.

Note: You will be prompted for the Road Model, Database (Digital Terrain Model), and Bridge Project if these are not defined in project settings.

Command prompts for:

• Start station:[m], end station:[m] Enter the station for the view <m> - Define the start station from which perspective view is desired.

• View backwards or Forwards (B/F) <Forwards> - Define the view direction.

• Enter horizontal distance from the road alignment (in m) <default value> - Define the horizontal distance of viewpoint from the road alignment. The default value is 2.0m.

• Enter vertical distance from the road alignment (in m) <default value> - Define the vertical distance of the viewpoint from the road alignment. The default value is 1.5m (height of a person's eye when in a passenger car).

• Enter the focal length (mm) <default value> - Sight distance. The function will then generate the specified perspective view of the bridge/structure and command prompts for - S(Section no)/I(interval)/N(Next)/P(Previous)/H(Hide)/ESC:

• S (Section no.) - You can jump to the desired station to have a perspective view at that station. Use this option and define the desired station number.

• N (Next)/P (Previous) - You can traverse along your bridge/structure using the option Next and Previous. The function jumps to the next or previous station for a perspective view. The interval of this traversing will be as that defined with the option I (Interval).

• I (Interval) - Define the stepping interval of the stations when you traverse along the bridge/structure.

• H (Hide) - Functions as Hide in AutoCAD.

• ESC - You can exit the scroll mode. The AutoCAD cursor will reappear.
