Trimble Novapoint Help
This update also embeds an update of Quadri for Windows.
Release date: 06.03.2026
Visit our pages regarding compatibility breaks and known issues for more info on those topics.
For release notes related to Quadri for Windows go here.
NOTE: As part of Novapoint 2025.4 an IFC Feature Catalogue is released on Quadri for Windows.
When starting Quadri with the Novapoint extension it does no discriminate on the feature catalogue in use on the project.
Because of this, Novapoint will be available on these projects also.
For Novapoint we have some templates prepared, but they are in BETA mode and not intended for production.
On right-click in the Quadri for Windows Explorer tree on tasktypes of Road, Railway and Trench tasks it is now possible to choose "View in Cross Section" to view this task in a cross-section view. It will display a preview of a Cross Section View along the alignment this model is using. It is possible to drag and drop data to the view and also Save as Presentation for further use. Preview interval is 10m and presentation setup is 'Default'.
Novapoint Road, Railway and WS now produces solids with a single shell, which in turn will automatically produce 3D Solids when publishing to DWG.
CSV files imported to Rulesets in Quadri for Windows can be bundled so that they work across different users without having the CSV on a local path.
With the release of Novapoint 2026 it will only be compatible with Trimble Drawing 2026.
For Novapoint 2026.2 we recommend to use Trimble Drawing 2026 v.3513 for best compatibility.
Task Selector
ENHANCEMENT: The task selector now also list the non-reserved tasks in the [...], similar to what is found in the drop-down list.
Road CAD Tools
FIXED: Slope Surface tool could have challenges with some setups of rocksurfaces, resulting in the rock cut not meeting that layer as expected.
NEW: Solids in Quadri are stored as single shell. This enables making 3D solids when publishing to DWG.
NEW: Road task conversion rule now includes the EYEELEVATION and OBJECTELEVATION for the sight distance lines.
NEW: For the Road design tasks in a Quadri model created with an IFC 4.3 Object Type Catalogue, it is now possible to define the spatial breakdown structure for the design task result objects. The setup of the spatial breakdown structure is done in the Settings dialog on the design task.
CHANGED/ADDED: Road and Railway task conversion rules now includes the SubSurface layer number as part of the Cut features earthenMaterial > detailedMaterialDescription. This means that the Cut features now know if they are Soil 1 or Soil 2 in the attributes in addition to the featurename. With this change the conversion rules of road, rail and WS are harmonized to make it easier to extract the quantities across these models in f.ex Table View.
ENHANCEMENT/FIXED: Calculation speed improved for models with many alignments as surface edge.
FIXED: Alignment as surface edge on the roadbed of detailed pavement description did not work on the lefthand side of the model.
FIXED: Cases of partly duplicate features was produced by the model, mixing up some of the areageometry that got stored with the solids.
FIXED: In situations where insert edge or inner slope would collide with the roadsurface on both sides of the road, there could be some unwanted results in the cross-section and in the 3D results.
NEW: A new quantity report is available that focuses on CUT features in the road/rail model. It will list the amount of volume, area 2D and area 3D of the cut features and separates them into Soil 1, Soil 2 .... Forest top soil 25, also listing this with the set interval.
Denmark:
NEW: Vehicle selection is updated to fit with the 'Håndbog - Grundlag for udformning af trafikarealer'.
Finland:
NEW/ENHANCEMENT: Inframodel supported with new templates and conversion rules. Templates are using IM4.0.4 as default, but can be changed by the user to IM4.2.0.
Templates for topsurface
Templates for topsurface + roadbed
Templates for all layers
The templates use a new conversion rule named: 'InfraBIM Road/Rail - Breakline+Surfaces'
This conversion rule groups the layers under SurfacesName using a Inframodel LayerName. Within a SurfacesName each SurfaceName will be named as TaskName_LayerName. This also enables exporting multiple road and/or railway models to the same Inframodel file.
REMOVED: Conversion rule named 'InfraBIM Surfaces' has been removed from the installation.
ENHANCEMENT: Harmonizing the naming of Binder course, using 'Sidekerros' in all places.
NOTE: Most updates in NP Road also applies to NP Railway.
NEW: For the Railway design tasks in a Quadri model created with an IFC 4.3 Object Type Catalogue, the cant values on the result objects are now handled correctly.
Importing alignments with cant now reads the cant.
ENHANCEMENT: The KM stationing tool now supports adding KM to Inframodel 4.2.0 files.
FIXED: Cases of not building when total ballast thickness was 0.000m on the inside of the 2.19 surfaces.
Finland:
Export to Inframodel supported similar as for Road.
NEW: "Save As" added in project menu. New function copy an existing WS tasks model, calculation basis and illustration object, to a selected folder, in one operation.
FIXED (ALL configs): Overlapping text when changing drawing scale.
IMPROVED (Switzerland): Updated "Cable Plan Style" and "WS Plan Style" drawing config.
NEW: Added parameters for presenting manhole more properties in vertical grid.
FIXED: If an inserted block was edited (Cut or Hole) the next block of same type inherited the previous Cut or Hole.
New
3DSIGN - Now supporting to draw the reflecting film geometry in 3D.
Selecting this option generates a 3D geometry representing the reflective sheeting underlying the sign face. This geometry is what carries the sign's texturing (for visualization) when saved to Quadri.
3DSIGN - Now supporting to draw the sign face geometry in 3D.
Enabling this specific generation option is crucial for achieving a complete and visually accurate representation of the road sign within the CAD environment. When activated, the system processes the design data and generates the content that appears on the sign face—including all text, symbols, and regulatory markings—as a three-dimensional planar surface geometry. This 3D surface representation offers a distinct advantage over only a single colored representation, as it fully integrates the sign's face into the overall CAD drawing model. The primary benefit of generating the sign face as 3D Surface (Planar) geometry is the enhanced visualization it affords. By representing the sign in three dimensions, designers and engineers can observe its appearance, placement, and potential visual impact from any angle within the design space. For the best possible viewing experience and clarity, it is highly recommended to activate the shading feature within the 3D view of the CAD application.
